Glastonbury, UK – Prepare to embark on a mesmerizing journey into the realm of Elven lore with “Elven Songs”, a world-premiere concert blending folk, classical chamber music, and poetic storytelling. Curated by The Blackbird (Greg Dinunzi), this event promises an evening of enchantment, featuring original compositions, traditional Elven-inspired works, and collaborations with esteemed musicians.

A Night of Enchantment and Collaboration

“Elven Songs” is a curated collection of original and traditional songs inspired by the themes and lore of the Elves, brought together for its world premiere in Glastonbury. The concert will feature:

• Selections from Dinunzi’s acclaimed version of Fiona Macleod’s “The Immortal Hour”, which premiered to acclaim in Glastonbury in 2025. This live performance will be accompanied by The Blackbird’s Acoustic Folk Chamber Ensemble at St. Benedict’s Church.

• A world premiere of a new song set to the text of Hazrat Inayat Khan, blending spiritual poetry with haunting melodies.

• Two additional world-premiere songs inspired by the poetry of Fiona Macleod, further weaving the magic of Elven lore into the evening’s repertoire.

Special Guest Performances

Adding depth and texture to the concert, Karola Elssner will enchant the audience with her mastery of the Armenian Duduk, alongside her contributions on bass clarinet and alto sax. Jenny Bliss Bennet, a Glastonbury treasure, will captivate listeners with her soulful performances on cello and viol de gamba, evoking the timeless beauty of medieval and folk traditions. Claire Wilson will play English Horn and Oboe, and Robert Paul will play Piano and Melodica.
